“Original Cactus Blank”™ fishing rod handle blanks are hand made from Texas Prickly Pear Cactus (Opuntia lindheimeri Engelm. var. lindheimeri), the state plant of Texas. Portions of the cactus are painstkingly harvested, processed, and cast in urethane resin to make the blanks. Only naturally dead pads are harvested and no damage is done to the living plant.
