I make custom knives and stabilize my own knife scales.  I have dealt with Curtis Seebeck on a few occasions and have always found him to be very helpful and professional. Products have always been shipped in a very timely manner.   He will go above and beyond what most vendors do to help his customers.  I will continue to do my business with TurnTex Woodworks as long as I make knives.

Curtis, Just received your blanks and as usual they look great. The key to making these blanks is to not overheat per your instructions. If you use CA glue to cement in the brass tubing, do not use an accelerant to speed up the process. It causes the heat to build up and causes foging to occur. After drilling the hole in the center I use a Q tip and some denatured alcohol to clean out the inside. The key is to keep the heat from building up. These pens are one of my top sellers. Mike

I ordered my vacuum chamber and Cactus Juice from Curtis awhile back and received them in mid-late March/early April. There was also a conference in Wadsworth, Ohio where Curtis would be speaking. So I decided to wait until after that before I used either product. 

Honestly I'm glad I did, having him explain a lot of these processes, and the science behind them allowed me to have a clearer understanding of what was happening when I stabilized wood and why.

Since the conference I had to use customer support at Turntex, and I have to say again how great Curtis was in not only helping me resolve my problem, but making sure it wouldn't happen again.

His understanding on how his product Cactus Juice, interacts with Alumilite resins and dyes will be very helpful when I start casting worthless wood, and dying wood as well.

If you find these reviews first, I suggest you read the documents in the help center/directions and tutorials. Your will find a LOT of useful information there, on building molds, and racks for your pressure pot these include a materials and cut list so 85% of the work is done for you free of charge.

Curtis is also a member of several Facebook turning, resin blanks, and stabilized pages. If you can't find the answers to your question here, then contact him there, or pm/ text him. Few companies dedicate the time and energy to help customers and non-customers like Curtis at TurnTex does.

I was pretty familiar with the Turn Tex offerings as I watched all of his tutorial and read all of his help topics.  I then got the chance to visit with Curtis and that solidified my desire to get into the stabilizing business.  I placed my order and about 5 days later my order showed up.  I will continue to watch the tutorials until I get used to everything.  Thanks Curtis for making this a simple process to get into the stabilizing world.  Dan

I have been making knives for 5 years now and got tired of using sub standard handle material or paying someone else for things that i can do myself. This is an awesome product. I have just started turning hunting calls and heard about cactus juice so thought I would give it a try and wow. I have some trees that have fallen over the years and are dry and  rotten And the cactus juice has turned them into some beautiful calls. I will definitely be a repeat customer. Once I got over the intimidation factor to not screw stuff up, it was easy! I bought a bunch of cheap exotic blanks at a wood show and after stabilizing, I had zero blow outs when I used to expect 20% of these blanks to blow out.

Through stabilization, I am able to save not only highly porous soft woods, but also expensive exotic burls with one-of-a-kind grain patterns. I don't cuss near as much in the shop anymore!

I just got my order from TURNTEX in the process of setting up my vacuum chamber and pressure pot. I will be stabilizing and doing some Alumilite on some of the knife handles. I appreciate the videos, the QA, and knowing that Curtis is available if I need him.

After placing my order, I was pleased to hear from the company with a thank you for ordering, I felt the thank you was a personal one, and not a robo-response, so I replied to it, and lo and behold it WAS real, and the followup was just as personal..  This makes me feel confident that I am dealing one to one, just as we did in years past, when we would go to brick and mortar stores to pick up what was needed for a project.  I only wish I needed to place another order, just to enjoy the friendliness of the company..  The good news is that I will need to order soon enough..   Thank you for being as close to a Brick and Mortar as a web page could be!

I noticed your question answered that you shipped to Hawaii!!! Guess what? Most times when we order stuffs from vendors on the mainland and other places, the statement is always "No shipping to Hawaii and Alaska".  I own a business and ship all over the mainland with no problems.

I ordered a gallon of Cactus Juice, expecting to wait a week or two for it to arrive. Not only did it come within the week, I think it was shipped 20 minutes after I ordered, and it arrive in the Seattle area just a couple days later. Great customer service and a fine, high quality product!

The packaging was thoughtful and kept the chamber safe. The build quality is excellent.  The instructions that are included are precise and easy to follow.

So far all I have tested was its ability to hold a vacuum, which is does with no issues.

While new to stabilizing, I'm not new to,saving money.  When i retired 18 months ago, i turned a small hobby into a small business and my small business has grown and grown so that I'm now busy 8 days a week doing something i love.

Supplies can become expensive and the "buy 4 gallons" and save allows me to purchase and plan for the future without worry about running low or trying to go cheap and cut corners.

What can I say. As always, Curtis provides stellar service and the product speaks for itself. This is probably my tenth or fifteenth order. I have only ever had one problem. It was the post offices fault, Curtis made it right super fast!! You can't go wrong with Turntex.

Accidentally placed the order twice, called and spoke directly to Curtis. He handled the mix-up and my order was on the way. He even had a few minutes to answer my questions about worthless woods.

I needed a few fittings for my vacuum chamber set up , Turn Tex had what I needed , fair prices , fair shipping . The parts were in the mail the next day , 2 days later they were at my door . Thanks for such fast service. I received my box with the two gallons of Cactus Juice and there was a slight problem. Ya'll taped it very well but one end was barely closed. It would help to do one or two wraps around the box.  You do the edges better than anyone w do business with but coming to Alaska can be rough on boxes.

My Comments:  Thank you for the suggestion, Rod.  As you know, we use the very best reinforced tape and do tape all the edges.  I have instructed my shipping manager to start putting a couple of wraps of tape all the way around the box to try to help mitigate this problem in the future.  Unfortunately, the Postal Service can be a little rough on packages to say the least!

I recently purchased products from TurnTex and was pleased with the transaction, which was quickly processed and mailed out. I am very pleased with the product and service I received and I highly recommend doing business with this company.

Curtis is the best! And so are his products!!  We've tried other stabilizing resins - but, they are NOT in the same league as Cactus Juice.  If you want the BEST, call, email, or text Curtis!

I received my new 6" X 14" vacuum chamber about a week ago. I did my first try with only 7 pen blanks. I used marbles to take up the extra space for this small run of pen blanks. They turned out perfectly. The only error I made was not wrapping each pen blank individually, and I had some excess dried bubbly resin on my blanks, which I easily removed with a belt sander and trimming on the tablesaw. I highly recommend Curtis' system. The quality in workmanship of the chamber was top notch.
