Just ordered my second gallon of stabilizer. As before it arrived on time and in good condition. I am really enjoying cleaning out my wood handle scale drawers and getting familiar with this process.

I have been hording beautiful woods for several years. Being able to use some guestionable pieces has got my enthusiasm up and I have been running a good deal through the stabilizing process. And, it's fun.

it’s easy to hear from anyone that stabilizes that cactus juice is the best product on the market, in fact I’ve never heard a professional using anything else. What you don’t hear is about the best customer service ever. Curtis doesn’t just sell products, he cares about his products, business, and most importantly customers. My first gallon I ever bought, I messed up, I did something it clearly says not to do but I just didn’t think about it. I called Curtis just to make sure my mistake was the only thing it could have been. He said yes it was but still worked with me to resolve. Not many companies doing the amount of product he does can you call and talk to the owner on his cell phone. Buy from Curtis and turntex, you wont be disappointed.

I've used Cactus Juice before with very good results, saving wood that wouldn't have even been firewood. The shipping was fast and secure and the website takes all the mystery out of using the product. Highly recommend the product.

I ordered a " sample"   size of alumilite to test the waters of blank making.   2 days to recieve, wow most impressed with not only the service but the product as well.   Resin was perfect and will be ordering the gallon sizes soon.  No better service or product out there!

I purchased a wood stabilizing tube.  It is very good quality and performs as expected. I would buy this product again and recommend it, great product.

I ordered a 6x20 stabilizing chamber from Turntex and a gallon of Cactus Juice to stabilize some Oak burl I found in the forest.  It's an interesting process and something I had never tried before.  Got a used vacuum pump from a HVAC friend and after the wood had sat in my shop attic for 9 months I started stabilizing.  Following the directions Curtis provided with the vacuum chamber, I stabilized my first batch of wood and it came out very nice.  I had several experienced folks tell me that Oak was not the greatest wood to stabilize because it cracked a lot and would have many occlusions and they were right.  However, I am pleased with my first batch of stabilized wood.

Now for the bad news.  Curtis' instructions very specifically advise not to let Cactus Juice get hotter than 85 degrees or bad things will happen.  On my second batch I left my shop shut up for several hours while I did some brush hogging and when I came back to check on the process I learned very quickly why directions should be followed.  The CJ had gotten over 85 and  became a solid mess in the vacuum chamber.  I have returned the chamber and solid mess inside it to Turntex and Curtis is hopeful he can fix the problem.  Hope he can.

Lesson learned for me is that because my shop is not air conditioned I shall only stabilize in the spring, fall and winter in Arkansas when temps in the shop remain below the critical point.

If you want to stabilize your own wood, I highly recommend Turntex and Cactus Juice.

I just received my vacuum chamber. quality of construction is great!

I am a beginner to stabilizing and have not used the Cactus Juice yet. But Turn Tex was quick to get it shipped to me and if that is any indication of how this hole thing is going to go I feel good. 

Over the past 5 yrs, I ordered a number of times from Turn Tex and while the product is always first rate, it’s the speed at which my order is processed and shipped.

Prompt isn’t just a word to these people.  Bravo to them for being consistent through the years.

I did a lot of research about stabilizing wood before I made my purchase. Mr. Seebeck has a great reputation for honesty and over the top customer service. If you are purchasing a vacuum stabilizing chamber it may take longer than you would like, but it's because they take the time to make your chamber to order instead of mass producing a fits-all product. Everything worked as expected the first time. On the website you will find a lot of helpful video's to help you understand the process of stabilizing wood. For DIY people, you really cannot ask for more. The lifetime warranty is another reason to buy from Turntex. I would highly recommend the company and the product.

Once again Curtis and his team at Turn Tex have come through. I ordered several items, including tubing, a new vacuum pump saver along with quite a few different dyes, bot for the cactus juice and alumilite. The order was shipped immediately on the same day and was perfect. I only wish all the suppliers for my knifemaking business were as prompt and accurate, not to mention Curtis is good people and will help anyone that asks.

You guys are totally awesome. I had my order the 3rd day after I ordered it. The quality to my chamber is second to none. As long as I'm building gunstocks and stabilizing wood you will be my supplier.

I have been using cactus juice to stabilize pen blanks, pot call blanks and burl pieces for jewelry for a few years. It is a great product!

Recently got interested in stabilizing wood. Read several articles on same, all were using Cactus Juice, with outstanding results. I had some questions why my pump wouldn't pull a full 30 on the guage, got answers, re-tested working perfect. Plan on using this product till I,or my equipment" give out". Very nice results. First material out of the chamber was some 1300 yr old bog oak. Second was some, highly figured maple I've had on hold for several years till I could get it stabilized. "Got er done". Pro results right at home no waiting, no shipping, reusable fluid, soap and water clean-up win, win,win. Give it a try!

Even though it has all been done online they have made it feel personal. I am new to pen turning, someone gave me some spalted wood which i believe to be tamarind at any rate was pretty soft so needed to be stabilized before using it. I purchased Cactus Juice and it did a fantastic job the wood turned out very nice and made a very nice looking pen blank. I think i am going to make a shaving set out of it next. As stated this is my first try at stabilizing wood so i watched all of the videos and researched the product well. Mr. Seebeck does a good job of explaining and demonstrating in his videos so when i received the product I felt like i knew exactly what to do. I was very happy that my fist attempt went so well. If you follow his directions this is very easy to use and produces fantastic results. Curtis and TurnTex have been notonly supplying my stablizing resin, casting resin and dyes for years now, but he's also the supreme authoritiy on all things related to the art and science of stablizing. Curtis is extremely helpful to all those wantingto learn more about the process and his company, TurnTex, is extremely well run with lightning fast shipping and carefully packed materials. TurnTex is one of those gems of a small business that over delivers on serviceand value. I also highly recommend his "Oven Tamer" for those of you stablilizing in small ovens. Great products and service from get to go.

After trying to make my own chamber, I quickly discovered the difference between Acrylic (plexiglass) and PVC. Both 1/8" and 1/4" cylinders of Acrylic cracked and failed when under vacuum, but had they worked my design would have done the job. After learning a $60 lesson, I bought the 4" x 12" chamber made from PVC from Curtis and it works perfectly. Don't try to take shortcuts, just buy a custom chamber and save yourself time and money. Read the manuals that come with the chamber and juice and follow the steps and you should end up with positive results.

 

I have been stabilizing my own wood for knife blocks for almost a year now and this is the only product I use. It works great and has never let me down. I do a lot of heavy spalted maple from west coast and it works great on even the super punky stuff. Highly recommend the cactus juice product and this company.  Always super fast shipping.
